A mixture of soul music, jazz and blues.

In Masa Orpana’s band Honk, saxophone plays a key role. The band’s style is a combination of new Orleans-like rhythm and blues, jump and Chicago blues, jazz, gospel, country, afro and soul. The band’s albums are made up of instrumental music and songs. Callers are long-line professionals from the bands Anssi Tikanmäki Orchestra, Jazz Museum, Funky Kingston, Groovy Eyes, Ismo Haavisto Band, Honky Tonk Men, Rakka, Pauli Hanhiniemi Retkue and Hehkumo.

HONK consists of blues specialists Masa Orpana (saxophone), Jonni Seppälä (guitar), Ville Vallila (bass) and Juppo Paavola (drums). In addition, the quartet regularly performs with Tuomas Heinonen (saxophone) and Aino Heikkonen (saxophone).
